Cred Collect App overview

The Challenge

Traditional debt collection systems are heavily reliant on aggressive, high-pressure tactics that alienate customers, create substantial administrative overhead, and lead to poor success rates. Individuals struggling with financial outstanding face severe stress, a lack of flexible repayment choices, and opaque procedures. For financial institutions, recovering funds is slow, legally complex, and extremely damaging to brand reputation.

Project Process & Timeline

Week 1-2 Fintech Compliance Audit & Empathy Mapping

Audited standard recovery channels and compliance frameworks while building empathy maps for users facing outstanding dues.

Week 3-4 Flexible Repayment Journeys & UX Flow Architecture

Designed non-intrusive notification frameworks, customizable installment sliders, and automated settlement modules.

Week 5-6 Responsive Mobile UI Wireframing & Prototyping

Constructed high-fidelity components, micro-animations, and interactive flow charts for repayment dashboards.

Week 7-8 Visual Design System & App Submission

Polished user profile cards, custom charts, Google Play release compliance items, and handed off layouts.

Understanding User Insights

I gathered qualitative feedback from banking users and conducted empathy map analysis to identify primary user anxieties. This research led to a major design shift: prioritizing self-directed repayment schedules instead of agent-driven interactions.

Designing the System

Cred Collect transforms the collection ecosystem by offering users a self-directed dashboard. Instead of aggressive phone calls, the platform utilizes soft, friendly reminders, custom payment-term builders, clear progress trackers, and real-time score updates to reward positive behavior. It simplifies complex financial arrangements into simple, single-tap actions, restoring dignity to the debt recovery process.

Overcoming Obstacles & Prototyping

Our primary challenge was designing a payment portal that felt motivating rather than punitive. We resolved this by highlighting positive metrics—such as projected credit score recovery and debt-free status milestones—directly within the layout. Interactive wireframes were iterated multiple times to ensure absolute clarity on repayment calculators.

Design System & Colors

A cohesive color palette was constructed to define the brand visual identity. Headings leverage premium Instrument Serif typography while structural content uses clean Inter sans-serif sizes.
